Josh Valentine, Outreach & Communications Manager for the Clean Coalition, delivered a presentation titled “Resilient, reliable, and renewable: A new approach to designing the electric grid” for the monthly speaker series held by the Boulder County chapter of theColorado Renewable Energy Society.The event took place on May 10, 2016at the University of Colorado Boulder in Boulder, CO.

The United States is burdened by a dated and inefficient power system. To meet the energy challenges of the future, we must transition to a smarter, more efficient, and more sustainable electrical system that can power our economy for the long-term. The Clean Coalition is dedicated to accelerating this transition to widespread renewable energy generation through its strategic work with policymakers, utilitites, and communities.

Mr. Valentine talked about the Clean Coalition’s work across the country pioneering a new approach to designing and operating the electric grid. In particular, he talked about efforts in grid planning, procurement of renewable energy, and connecting local projects to the grid.
